I have lived in XXXX, Alaska all of my live and love our state as it offers an ideal life for my family. We vote, pay our taxes, strive to be solid citizens and are bring up our children with good values. However, we have run across a problem and need some help from a person in your position to get us through the storm. We fell behind on our mortgage payments at the beginning of this year and we have not been able to deal with our mortgage servicer directly. Caliber Home Loans tried selling our home early this month, but we were able to stop the sale and we are afraid they will ultimately take our home away if we can not get them to speak with us. Its not entirely their fault as we hired an attorney to help us negotiate our delinquency, but he has done nothing and Caliber said they can only speak to my attorney. I fired him, but Caliber still wont open any discussion that would allow me to keep my home.
They have strongly indicated that they will help me with home retention options, if they can speak to me. I am asking for your offices assistance to help me communicate with them to get the ball rolling to save my home from foreclosure. I do not need you to negotiate or get involved in any way except to open the door for me to speak with them.
I purchased my home in 2008 and everything was going along fine. My business was doing well and the two rental properties I own were bringing in positive cash flow each month. However, the last two years have been a nightmare as I unfortunately had two very bad tenants. They both stopped paying rent and separately destroyed the homes they rented from me. One tenant brought in over ten homeless people and it was a legal and financial nightmare that cost me tens of thousands of dollars in direct costs, lost wages from all the time I had to deal with the issues and lost rental income. I finally ran out of money getting them out of the home and finishing off the repairs to bring the properties back to a rentable state. This caused me to fall behind on my mortgage payments. I truly did not have an option as I need the rental income to provide for my family. I thought I was doing the right thing when I was contacted by a law firm who promised they could help to get my loan modified. I paid them {$4000.00} and they apparently did nothing. I know I am deep in foreclosure, but I am certain something can be done to save my home for my children.

Caliber Home Loans failed to pay our annual property taxes for XXXX but all year have been dispersing funds from our escrow account. We received a deliquent tax notice with threats of foreclosure. I provided this information to the Caliber Tax Department via phone and fax on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. Spoke to supervisor XXXX XXXX who promised to resolve immediately and call me back to update me on the status on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. It is now XXXX/XXXX/XXXX, I have left 3 message with Supervisor XXXX XXXX with no return phone calls and the Tax Department customer service representatives claim they will have someone call me back but no communication. Currently our escrow account shows that funds have been paid out and the Mortgage Company can not account for nearly {$6000.00} worth of our money paid into the Escrow account but the money is now no longer there but our taxes were not paid.

At XXXX this morning I received two text messages " Thank you for being a Caliber Home Loans, Inc. customer. As you requested, the cell number on your account has been updated. '' " Thank you for being a Caliber Home Loans, Inc. customer. As you requested, you have been unsubscribed for eStatements. '' I called Caliber - and after explaining my concerns, twice, my call was redirected to the XXXX XXXX XXXX. The dealership stated no relation to Caliber. I called Caliber back a third time and they did not answer their line and disconnected the call. I called my spouse, filed a police report, emailed a letter from the Identity Theft program. Attempted calling several numbers listed on their website with no connection to any information or individuals possible.

I have been calling trying to fix this problem since late XXXX to no avail. They didn't offer us any solutions, was kept on hold for hours sometimes all day only to talk to a different person who had no idea and usually where very unprofessional and rude. No one told us we could ask for assistance under the cares act or that we had options they just sent back a payment to XXXX XXXX who is not on the loan nor is she an authorized user. They sent that payment to XXXX my estranged husband in XXXX yet claim they do not believe he isn't at the home address which is in XXXX ( he never lived here ) They finally agreed to ask for a modification package after I requested assistance under the cares act for over a month. They should have put a hold on the foreclosure at that point but didn't XXXX continued to dual track and still are. They have requested more than 200 documents that we have paid for software to send and ultimately paid to fax in because after 5 times of email specialized pdf files they claim there are still documents missing or in the wrong format. XXXX would expect that if a document is missing or in the wrong format that someone would contact you to let you know. They did not! I have called in almost daily while working a full time job and raising boys this company has been so difficult and unforthcoming withholding information that we didn't even find out about the foreclosure until a notice of default was posted on our door! They asked for the title deed that has my name on it saying they would do a successor in interest, they then claim they can not do that because XXXX ad I aren't legally divorced. Fine so now they have asked for our marriage license and a hand written document adding, me to the interest in the property which I already had in the form of the title deed! They asked for that document in XXXX, which we provided in multiple formats they then said that they would not put the foreclosure on hold until after the underwriter review ( dual tracking ) this is now 3 times we have been told they will find all of the programs we qualify for and will do 1 of them as it is a law under the cares act and yet there is no hold on the foreclosure the underwriters are still not reviewing anything they are still dual tracking and are trying to auction off our home that we have been trying unsuccessfully to make a payment on because they won't take a payment of any kind they have blocked access to the website and app. they have no answers and apparently none of the call center workers understand the law, or the cares act or the updated cares act passed in XXXX as they have all told me I am wrong and that I do not have any rights or knowledge about the cares act, however the attorney we are attempting to hire seems to think I do know what I am asking for. by the time he can get it into court however they will have taken our home in the middle of the XXXX in Alaska at that

Previously filed a complaint due to mismanagement of my escrow account by Caliber Home Loans. CFPB Claim number XXXX. Received a response from Caliber regarding refunds issued for the incorrect and lost payments withdrawn from my escrow account and correct payment issued on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX for my full XXXX property taxes. Before all the corrections were made, Caliber issued our XXXX IRS Form XXXX which reflected the incorrect amount for taxes paid. I disputed their initial response as well as emailed the Caliber complaint department notifying them of the incorrectly reported taxes paid for the year in block XXXX of our XXXX and I requested a corrected XXXX. I never received a response to either of my written requests. I then called the Caliber Tax department on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and spoke to XXXX ( Teller ID # XXXX ) who informed me that she spoke with a manager and the manager stated that they would not be issuing corrected XXXX because Caliber does not report this information to the IRS and that I should go to my taxing authority to get the correct amount. I informed her that I do n't believe that is an appropriate answer as I am required by the IRS to use these forms provided to complete my tax return. They have incorrectly reported the amount in block XXXX and should issue a corrected XXXX. She stated they would not issue a new form so I advised that I would be filling a new complaint to address this because I do not believe that is appropriate business practice to provide false amounts on an official tax document used for tax reporting of my personal return for XXXX.

To Whom This May Concern, On XX/XX/2022, I made a complaint with the state of Alaska for Caliber Home Loans. My husband called Caliber to be put on their XXXX list but we kept on getting letters in the mail for two years. I finally reached out to file a complaint with the state of Alaska to have Caliber remove us from their mailers. I got a letter back from XXXX XXXX Alaska state regulator ) stating that the company would put my family on the XXXX list. Today, XX/XX/XXXX. 2022 I have received another letter from Caliber Home Loans. Their corporate office is in Texas, but they originate in Alaska ( XXXX XXXX XXXX : XXXX ). My husband has received many homes refinancing letters since we have lived here and apparently after I have reached out to the state to be put on their XXXX list. During these two years, he has called Caliber Home Loans directly to add us to their do not contact list for the branch and corporate letters. Unfortunately, he still receives advertising letters and phone calls.
If you view their website www.caliberhomeloans.com at the bottom of the website there are no disclaimers regarding do not contact lists. We see one for Texas and California but nothing for the rest of the 48 states to submit their requests to not be contacted. I have also noticed there is no NMLS number, state license verbiage, or Caliber Home Loan disclaimer with the corporate NMLS number at the footer of the website. The ECOA logo is small, for the ECOA/Fair Lending regulation, the logo should be large in reference to the organizations logo. All are which are required for the state of Alaska.
According to the XXXX XXXX XXXX organizations that offer goods or services by telephone need to be registered with the Federal Trade Commission. They are required to have a national and local company do not contact lists offered to all branches. Caliber Home Loans may want to include a searchable database for consumers to fill out to ensure they will not be contacted by the organization.
The XXXX XXXX states that the opt-out option must be offered for at least 30 days after you send in the message. When we called in to be removed from being contacted, it was stated we would not be contacted. Even after 30 days, we have still received mailers and telephone calls. This is a violation of the XXXX XXXX. As previously stated above, on the branch and corporate website, there is no form that a consumer can fill out to be removed from being contacted. I went through their website again and there is still no XXXX information for those who do NOT live in California.
I do NOT want to be contacted by Caliber Home Loans. I don't know how many times I need to report Caliber.

My house flooded out causing damages that are in excess of XXXX. I am insured with XXXX XXXX. The insurance company issued a check in the amount of a little over XXXX to both the mortgage company and me. At that time it was my understanding that my mortgage company was XXXX and it was when I called to notify them of the loss at which time I was told that XXXX would simply endorse the check back to me so I could get the rapairs made. Two hours later XXXX contacted me back and told me that my mortgage had been sold to Caliber Home Loans. I then called them and told them what had happened. I was told to send them the check and that they would then send another appraiser over to make sure that XXXX XXXX had figured enough for the damages. I told them that I had agreed to do the job for what XXXX XXXX was paying to which I was informed that Caliber does not let " homeowner '' do their own repair and that it would take up to 5 weeks for them to have it appraised and get someone over to give a bid. I told them that I was a licensed contracter and I would make the repairs myself, at this time I was told that I would NOT be paid for any repairs made. I have made all the repairs with the exception of installing the carpet and the countertops. I have put out over XXXX total into my house at this time. Caliber has told me that I would have the total check sent to me and that if I sent a self addressed pre paid envelope for over night delivery that that I would have the check in 3-5 days. That was almost a month ago. I have been told this by numerous people yet at the same time everytime I talk to someone I get a different story. Last Thursday it was requested that I send them my receipts which I did. I was told I would get a check in 3-5 business days. TODAY I was told that a check for XXXX was sent out yesterday and that it would be up to 5 weeks before another one was sent. My house has no dining room, kitchen, master bedroom, dining room or master bathroom since XX/XX/XXXX and tomorrow is XXXX XXXX. This is totally unacceptable. My original paperwork from Caliber says that the only thing they will be doing is accepting the mortgage payments and all other parts of the mortgage agreement will remain in force. XXXX policy was to endorse the check back to the homeowner and let them get the job done either by themselves or a contractor of their choosing, THAT IS WHAT CALIBER IS SUPPOSE TO DO AS WELL, however they have point blank told me personally that they own my house and that I only pay rent on it. I asked them if they had contractors come give bids on my house and they bid morel than what XXXX XXXX 's quote was what would happen and they told me they would go to XXXX XXXX for more money, I then asked them if the bids came in less than what XXXX XXXX quoted, if I got the money back and I was told " NO, that 's our money ''. They seem to forget that I have personal losses involved as well, I have property that was damaged. I have paid out for the water mitigation and drying out, yet I get no money for that whatsoever. I 'm going on 90 days of having to live like this and put my money out of my pocket on this job, that is not right. The majority of contractors get money " up front '' before even starting the project and if I were a " preferred '' contractor of XXXX they would have made a single copy check to me as a contractor instead of a dual check to the contractor AND the mortgage company. I am due my money, they have received a proper invoice yet they fail to pay anything more than XXXX % when the project is at approximately XXXX %.

I have been charged 4 times for taxes last year in my escrow account.
XXXX XXXX and $ XXXX and XXXX XXXX and {$19.00} Im only supposed to be charged 2 times @ {$1400.00} thats in my closing documents.
{$2800.00} is what my total tax payment each year is supposed to be.
I have had my escrow go into the negative multiple times. I even tried to correct it by PAYING an EXTRA {$1000.00} on XX/XX/2022. Just to have it go into the negative again not even a month later- {$660.00} Caliber Home Loans tax department wont answer my calls. I need help. I cant keep taking time off work to call these buffoons and not even have them answer. They keep telling me to talk to the borough. The borough says its calibers issue. HELP ME PLEASE
